house of lilac is a flower shop in miami. we hand-deliver fresh flowers across miami-dade and broward, and we ship flowers we dry ourselves to all fifty states.
how house of lilac started
melanie left corporate law in 2016 to build something of her own—small-batch gift curation, chosen by hand, one box at a time. it grew into flowers.
nikki came in during the pandemic. she'd lost her job and had seventeen years of brand strategy and nowhere to put it. melanie needed help making deliveries one day, and nikki showed up because that's what you do for a friend. she didn't leave.
that same year, with foot traffic gone, we started asking whether this could be bigger than miami. the answer turned out to be dried flowers—a business we built together from nothing, and the reason you can order from us in oregon.
we've been friends much longer than we've been business partners. we still run it that way: two people with strong opinions about what belongs on your table.
our line has always been the same. flowers that elevate the everyday. not just the birthday, not just the apology, not just the wedding. the tuesday.
what we believe about flowers
flowers are decor. they're the finishing layer—the thing that makes a room feel like someone lives there and cares. you don't notice it until it's missing.
most people buy flowers three times a year, for other people. we built this shop for the person who buys them for their own kitchen counter, and for the person who's just starting to think that way.

where do you deliver fresh flowers in miami?
we hand-deliver fresh flowers across miami-dade and broward county, tuesday through friday, 10am to 6pm. same-day delivery is available on orders placed before noon for most zones.
we deliver palm beach by courier, and we take events across all three counties.
most of our deliveries are made by our own team, and where we use couriers, we use ones we've vetted and worked with for years. a flower delivery is usually somebody's whole gesture. we don't hand that to a stranger.
where do you ship dried flowers?
everywhere in the united states. dried flower bouquets, arrangements, bundles, and stems ship nationwide from our miami studio.
why do the flowers change every week?
because we buy what's actually beautiful that week, not what a catalog photo promised in march.
our shop is seasonal and the palette rotates weekly. the arrangement you receive won't be an exact copy of the photo—it'll be built to the same size, the same stem count, and the same standard, in whatever is genuinely at its best right now.
it's a different way to buy flowers. it's also the reason ours look the way they do.
how do you dry your flowers?
we dry them ourselves, in-house, using a process we've spent six years developing.
that's the whole answer, and it matters more than it sounds. most dried flowers sold online were bought already dried, from someone else, in bulk. ours are chosen fresh, dried by us, and built into arrangements by the same people who build the fresh ones.
they last for years. they don't need water. they aren't a lesser version of fresh flowers—they're a different job. fresh is the weekly ritual. dried is the piece that stays.
can we work with you on an event?
yes. everything from a table for eight at home to a full wedding, plus brand work—flower bars, activations, corporate gifting—in miami-dade, broward, and palm beach.
