What I've learned: Feed your body what it wants - in moderation obviously. I have never been a fan of diets or starving my body, I don't think that is a healthy way to live, neither is it to overindulge. But if you treat your body with love and respect you will find harmony in your choices. Do you enjoy sweets? Go ahead and enjoy that kit kat matcha :) Do you like junk food? Treat yourself every now and then to a burger and some french fries. Find the balance in your eating habits, but no matter what give your body tons of fresh veggies and fruits, plus plenty of water.
What I live by: A glass of water every morning. Your body has been without any food or liquids for hours, so give it some water as soon as you wakeup. I feed my body about 6 times a day. I love food. I eat small portions, and I eat often to keep my metabolism active, and my belly full! :) I also drink tons of green tea. It has some great benefits to your body, plus it is delish!
I've learned: You will love it and you will hate it and that is ok. You will change careers, you will start new things. You will succeed and you will fail and that is all part of it. But never ever put your self-worth in your work. Don't let your work define who you are.
What I live by: Do you. That means to trust your choices, stand your ground and respect your decisions. Also as the old saying goes: "you need a village to raise a child" the same goes for your business; you can only go so far by yourself. Go ahead and network, make connections, help others and you will see how much further your business will go.
What I've learned: You need your people. Both on a personal level and a business level. Show them love, respect and appreciation. BE PRESENT.
What I live by: My time with my family is sacred. I leave my phone behind as the rest of the world is not a priority when I'm with my husband and my family. In today's day and age it seems that we all have to be available via phone and social media 24/7 and that is the biggest lie we have all swallowed. Leave your phone at home, and enjoy your time with the people you love, it is liberating!
What I have learned: You can find Joy in the smallest of things, and it all depends on your attitude. It's easier said than done, but we are all a work in progress right?
What I live by: My yoga practice. Weather is a short 3 minute meditation, or a full 1 hour yoga sequence, I find my happy state of mind that carries my days and weeks in my practice. It's funny how Yoga has actually little to do with your body and a lot to do with cleaning your mind.
Other things that bring endless amounts of joy to my life: cuddling with my husband, Traveling, Netflix, playing with MacArthur the bulldog, kit kat matcha, bubble baths and tacos.
